Kara Diersing Clapp, PhD, NP-c Family Nurse Practitioner

Kara's career spans 28 years of nursing and includes: Orthopedics/Neurology, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Case Management, Worker's Compensation, Psychiatric-Mental Health, Geriatrics, Physical Rehabilitation, Pediatrics, Community Health, and Nursing Education.

Kara's doctoral research focused on children who are caregivers to chronically ill or disabled parents.

Kara's core belief is that health care should be consumer driven in a free market system. Health care providers should work for the patient and not serve the interests of the insurance industry. Health care insurance should be purchased just like our car insurance--for catastrophic protection--and not used for frequent maintenance like oil changes, tire rotations, etc. Before you ask the government to get involved with your health care--talk to a Medicare or Medicaid covered person about how well their government insurance plan is working for them. When you hear the answers, you will never ask for government-assisted health care again.
