Biography of Our Nurse Practitioner at Doctor Kara, PC

Kara Diersing Clapp, PhD, NP-c Family Nurse Practitioner

Doctor KaraKara's career spans 28 years of nursing and includes: Orthopedics/Neurology, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Case Management, Worker's Compensation, Psychiatric-Mental Health, Geriatrics, Physical Rehabilitation, Pediatrics, Community Health, and Nursing Education.

Kara's doctoral research focused on children who are caregivers to chronically ill or disabled parents.

Kara's core belief is that health care should be consumer driven in a free market system. Health care providers should work for the patient and not serve the interests of the insurance industry. Health care insurance should be purchased just like our car insurance--for catastrophic protection--and not used for frequent maintenance like oil changes, tire rotations, etc. Before you ask the government to get involved with your health care--talk to a Medicare or Medicaid covered person about how well their government insurance plan is working for them. When you hear the answers, you will never ask for government-assisted health care again.

Greetings from Kara

Hello!
Thank you for visiting my website.  I am excited that I can now serve clients the way I have always dreamed of since I was 19 years old. I've seen a lot of health care in 28 years of nursing--- I know I can offer something better than anything I've seen.

Now after all the hard work and 14 years of education, I get to provide what I believe is better service to people who need health care. Please call me and let me show you how I can be of service to you. I love jokes! Bring me a joke when you visit. Laughter is the BEST medicine.

For those of you who have not yet met me, don't be shy about calling me. Although I am a well-educated professional, I am still the oldest daughter of a single mother who was ill all of my childhood and to whom I was a caregiver from the time I was 8-14 years old. Needless to say, I grew up poor in Ohio. And you never forget what poor feels like.

I am fortunate that God has given me a college education. It my delight to fulfill the responsibilities that go hand in hand with His gift. I enjoy being able to offer health care  to all people regardless of insurance status--insured, uninsured, and under-insured--without making you wait and helping you relax while you are in my clinic.

Even as a professional woman, I have been without health insurance. I know hardship firsthand. My personal experience with hardship is the reason I am committed to having a medical clinic that meets the needs of all people.

My commitment to you is 5 minutes of wait time or less and "face to face" time that is 95% of the appointment time you scheduled.

Best Wishes,

Kara Diersing Clapp, PhD NP-c
