• The Right to Privacy Unlike many other clinics, your medical records belong to you. You decide who can and cannot see your medical records.
• The Right to Your Time  We take your time as seriously as we do ours. We guarantee that you will be seen on time or your visit is free. Scheduled patients will not have to wait an hour in the waiting room only to wait another 20 minutes in the exam room.
• The Right to be Treated Like a Person We make a point of getting to know each patient in the practice. You will never be a chart number. The clinic staff will get to know you as well as you know yourself.
• The Right to Have More than One Illness We recognize that sometimes several things go wrong with us at once. You have the right to be seen for all of the issues you need in a single visit. You will never be asked to make separate appointments just because you have more than one ailment. *
• The Right to Convenience Our clinic schedule is available online. You can schedule your own appointment any time 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you wake up feeling sick at 2:30 AM, you can quickly grab the next available appointment. There is no need to wait until the clinic opens only to be told that you cannot be seen until the Thursday after next.
• The Right to a House Call Kara Diersing Clapp, PhD, NP-c makes house calls, office calls, hotel calls, and resort calls. If you cannot come to our clinic, we will come to you. Mothers with sick kids don't have to pack them in the car, and busy business people don't need to leave the office. .
• The Right to Value There are no hidden fees or charges. You pay for your appointment time. ** You take as much time as you need and you will know that you received personal care for that entire time. In some cases, a diagnosis or treatment may require outside services. We have worked hard to identify the outside resources that provide the best value.
• The Right to Knowledge You have the right to have your health situation and treatment explained to you so that you understand how you can get healthy again and remain healthy.

* Because appointments are the time that you schedule, be sure to schedule more time for more ailments. On average, a single issue requires 15 minutes to diagnose and develop a treatment plan. Some issues are simple, some are more complex. If in doubt, schedule a little extra time. The additional personal care you receive will be well worth while.

** Most in-office lab-work is low cost. Certain procedures and lab work incur extra fees. We will advise you of these additional fees at the time of the visit.

How are appointments with Kara Diersing Clapp, PhD, NP-c different than other medical clinics and offices?

Office appointments at our clinic are completed very much like the appointments you expect when visiting a counselor or psychologist. One appointment for one person at a time. Psychologists and counselors do not double and triple book appointments, neither do we. Your appointment is yours only.

When you hold an appointment at with the clinic you are requesting TIME--time that is given to no one else but you. You are welcome to use that time in any manner you wish, but if you choose to not use the time you reserved, you must be willing and able to compensate Kara Diersing Clapp, PhD, NP-c for the time that is lost and cannot be given to anyone else at the last minute. Like a psychologist's office---there are no other clients in the waiting area who can fill your late cancellation or No Show in short notice. This is how our clinic is so different than other medical providers--there is no double and triple booking--so you are guaranteed to be seen on time and to receive the undivided attention you deserve.

You are not greeted by a medical assistant who takes your vital signs, height, or weight. Your nurse practitioner does all this with you and escorts you into the exam room at the time of your scheduled appointment. Your nurse practitioner is with you the entire time, listening to your needs, symptoms, examining you, etc. so she can get the right diagnosis and order the right treatment. You also receive an explanation of your symptoms and medications, and what to do if your symptoms worsen. The last few minutes of your visit will be spent "wrapping things up"--we may update your medical record and visit note while in the room with you. We will even schedule your next visit for you before escorting you back to the waiting area to collect your belongings as you leave. 

You can also get a treat and something to drink from our refreshment counter before you go into the exam room. The atmosphere is very relaxing and soothing like a spa. Why should a medical office feel uninviting and "sterile"? You won't find this at Doctor Kara, P.C Nurse Practitioner Clinic.

The environment and appointment flow at our clinic is nearly identical to the flow of a  counseling office. So now you can understand why the policies of the clinic involve Cancellation fees and No Show fees. We schedule only several patients a day, so you are guaranteed to receive the personalized, undivided medical attention you deserve.
